Day 3: Endure Together by Remembering God’s Faithfulness
Read Psalm 146:6, 2 Corinthians 1:20-22
The Lord is the maker of everything, and He remains faithful forever. We serve a God who is faithful forever. He will never stop being faithful to you or your spouse, and He will be faithful to your marriage.
We must not lose sight of God’s faithfulness because just as He has been faithful in the past, He will be faithful to you right now. A.W. Tozer, in his work, The Knowledge of the Holy, wrote these words: “Only as we have complete assurance that He is faithful may we live in peace and look forward with assurance to the life to come.”
What would it look like for you and your spouse today to remain completely confident and to have complete assurance that God is faithful? In what ways would this change your marriage? How might this allow you both to live in peace?
Remember that every promise of God to us is “yes and amen” if you are in Christ. It is God who will make your marriage stand firm, and He has set His seal of ownership upon your life. Not to mention that His Spirit in you is a deposit that guarantees what is to come.
Therefore, in light of all of this, do not forget God’s faithfulness today. Call it to mind. Do not allow it to just be head knowledge, but allow the faithfulness of God to ignite your love for Him once more.
Remember who you are in Christ, and remember that in Jesus, His promises to you and your spouse are “yes and amen.” He is faithful forever, and aren’t you glad for that?

Help us to stand firm in you today, remembering who we are and all that you have done for us. Great is your faithfulness; great is your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
